gB's at Snug Harbor - 2/02/08

The Garrigan Bros. play a show in Charlotte.
"Do you guys ever play together?"
Some questions get thrown around for years before they can be answered. My brothers and I started playing shows as a band a few years ago. The first few shows were really bad. The last two we've done have been reasonably good.
Snug Harbor is a Charlotte, NC club that I hadn't played yet. I guess between the acoustic shows at the Muse and the bigger shows at Amos' Southend, I haven't had much cause to play other shows. My brother Jay scored us a gig opening for the Goldenrods.
The gB's is a working title for this recreational group. I play with my brothers for pure enjoyment. Half of our songs are less than two minutes long and involve some kind of humor, for better or for worse. Absurdity is one of the places where we can be truly honest. I guess it masks the hardship of reality. Our jocund tunes have titles like "We Eat Together, We #$%^ Alone," "Tom vs. John," and "I'm Frustrated." We've tried to play more traditional songs with less success. But, still, the show goes on.
I've been trying to stick to bass in this band. At a past show, we switched things up, but it felt a little identity-less. I also play my bro's Moog, pictured above. All in all, the show was good. Our set list was:
Gazing At Your Crown
Ice Cream Cone
Seven Horses
Still
Shaking
Let It Go
Maybe I Should Thank You
Tom vs. John
I'm Frustrated
We Eat Together
We'll probably play a few shows in the near future. Personally, I'd like to put out some music. It's a lot of fun.
